The quick answer to this question is no. After contracting another UTI this year, I used both treatments and my symptoms still persisted for four days. I have yet to find an accessible herbal solution to UTI’s (I’m still searching!!!). However, both of these natural supplements seem to help prevent UTI’s. You can get both of these treatments from some pharmacies and most natural health stores. I don’t know if it’s possible to overdose on either of these plants. Apparently bearberry can make you nauseous if you eat too much of it.
The best prevention to UTI’s is peeing frequently throughout the day, keeping everything down there clean with wet wipes (including your bum), and ALWAYS pee after sex and after ANYTHING that involves that part of your body. Drinking cranberry juice constantly when you have a UTI helps keep the pain at bay. But if you do have a UTI, PLEASE go to the doctor if it doesn’t go away in a few days. UTI’s can go seriously wrong in a short amount of time. If you think a UTI is uncomfortable, you will not enjoy the kidney infection that follows. Kidney infections can be lethal and should not be messed around with. The antibiotic that works for me is known as “Cipro” (pronounced sih-pro). It is the only antibiotic that completely eliminates whatever bacteria is causing the UTI. Of course, everybody is different so listen to your doctor.
